The picture above shows an award I received in high school. The award I received was called “The Living the Truth and Love Award” from Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin School which is a prestigious award granted to two students from each grade level per year for outstanding leadership and exemplifying the school’s mission statement. The schools mission statement is based on the principle of educating leaders to transform the world around them through service and leadership as Jesus. I am proud of this award because I feel it exemplifies who I am as a person. I strive to be person of integrity and compassion always, trying to serve others as Jesus would have. By receiving this award, I was looked at by others as a role model to live their lives by which is something I always strive for. While I make many mistakes, I always try to be the best person God created me to be. This award is also the foundation of transforming me into a Mount Leadership society scholar which is based on very similar principles such as servant leadership.
