One of the most meaningful and impactful experiences of my high school career was serving as the student council president at Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin. My senior year of high school, I was elected the opportunity to lead our student body throughout the year and work together with the rest of the council to better our school. The picture above shows me alongside my other council members and vice president after a school event we planned. In this one year I grew just as much as a learner as I did a leader. While I learned to lead a team of many different people towards a common goal, I also learned how to listen and collaborate with others more than I ever have in my life. I learned that being leader is not just being in charge, but working with those around you to synergize the ideas and energy of everyone on the team, not compromise them. The experience helped shape me into the person I am today as well as provided me a vision as to what I hope to become in the future. Through this experience I was able to realize that while leading others is very difficult at times, it is something that I have a passion for and hope to continue to do in the future. This hands on experience guided me towards my educational career path in the management side of side of business in which I hope to lead teams of people in a larger scale in the future.
