The initial stage of the recycling cycle is for users to recycle materials in bins. Every week a recycling truck comes by to collect the bins. The recycling truck delivers all that was collected to a sorting facility. The sorting facility uses machines to determine which items can be recycled using the sorting process (described in ‘Current Recycling System’ section). The items that can’t be recycled are sent off to landfills, while the items that can be recycled are baled and shipped to manufacturing facilities to be remanufactured into new products and packaging. The last stage is the distribution of remanufactured items nail to consumers.
