K-Cup Use

      1. Do you use K-cups? Why or why not?
        1. Yes, because they are super easy and fast
      2. If yes, please explain the process of using the product.
        1. I check to make sure there is enough water. If not, fill up the water, wait for it to heat up. Place kcup in holder and brew coffee. Lately, been using reusable kcup
      3. How often do you buy k-cups?
        1. When I used them, at least twice a month
      4. How often do you use k-cups?
        1. 2-3 times a day
      5. Have you explored other methods for brewing coffee? Talk to me about your experiences. If not, why haven’t you? Would you be interested in exploring other options?
        1. Yes, have been using resuable kcups because it is less wasteful. They are fine. Likes that they brew a single cup of coffee. It’s a pain because not everyone in the house uses it and you have to remove a part of the Keurig so that is an added step. Also, it does take an extra 3 minutes which seems small but in the morning every minute counts. It also makes a mess.
      6. Please talk to me about your perspective of the environmental impact of k-cups.
        1. Obviously very wasteful but everyone does it
      7. What is most appealing about k-cups? Least?
        1. Most – ease of use and how fast it is
        2. Least – is very wasteful
      8. How do you dispose of your used k-cups? Why?
        1. Usually just throw them out because I know you have to clean them out which is pretty time consuming

Recycling Habits

    1. Do you recycle? Why or why not?
      1. Yes – my roommate encourages us to and drives our recycles to a plant once a week
    2. Are you familiar with what can and can’t be recycled?
      1. Yes mostly – I know the basics of what can and can be but could definitely be better about it
    3. Have you taken steps to learn about what can and can’t be recycled? Why or why not?
      1. No – because I think I know enough of the basics
    4. Do you clean your recycles before placing them in the bin? Why or why not?
      1. I’ll typically rinse them out if they are dirty before placing them in a bin but nothing beyond an initial rinse
    5. Do you separate your recycles? Why or why not?
      1. No because we only have one bin
    6. In your opinion, are k-cups recyclable?
      1. Yes but only if they are separated and cleaned
