In today’s fast paced society, people are always on the go. Pod-style coffee makers have been on the incline in the last ten years. According to a report by Fior Markets, the global coffee pod and capsule market is expected to grow from 15.23 billion dollars in 2017 to 29.2 billion dollars by 2025 [1]. In 2020, 40% of American coffee drinkers owned a single serve coffee machine and almost half of all owners of these single serve machines have an annual income of $50,000 or more. [2] Coffee pods give consumers the opportunity to quickly brew a single cup of coffee that will taste the same, every time. These machines simplify the brewing process and also keeps the coffee fresher. Not to mention that fact that coffee pods come in over 200 different flavors.

Pod coffee is being introduced in many facets of society. Popular coffee chains like Starbucks and Dunkin Donuts have created their own capsules to be used in compatible machines. [2] Companies across the U.S. have switched to pod coffee machines in the workplace.

Due to the Coronavirus pandemic, employees across the globe are working from home. Because they normally drink coffee in office, people are purchasing these single serve machines to keep in their homes to make a quick cup of morning coffee.
