The 2019-2020 Executive Board During the Monthly Dinner in the Faculty Club!

Meet the 2019-2020 GLI Executive Board

VP of Project Development: Andrea Edland

Hometown: Stavanger, Norway

Major: World Politics

Minors: International Business and Environment, Economy, Development, and Sustainability

Interest/Hobbies:  I enjoy baking, going for walks and hikes, and watching a good documentary. I also love exploring new dining places and coffee shops with friends.

Why is it important for you to be global-minded?
With the world becoming increasingly interconnected it is important to have a basic understanding of how it works while also recognizing its complexities and our vast cultural differences. In my personal life, I pursued opportunities that would challenge my current points of view by surrounding myself with people different from myself. Not only did I learn a lot, but I also discovered a new appreciation for our differences which also led to me wanting to learn more. And professionally I hope to work in the sustainability field, which requires a global mindset as all of the issues are interlinked. I hope to be able to contribute to a just transition to renewable energies by focusing on the impacts potential solutions have on people – not just in a single country, but across the world.

What were you most excited for GLI?
I was most excited to meet and learn from new people from all around the world.
