Mobile technology is a growing trend in education as well as in the corporate sector. Fisher is staying up to date with this technology movement by exploring Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) solutions for classroom response and through tablet computing initiatives. The Masters of Business in Operational Excellence (MBOE) program has been one of the trend setters at Fisher in this area through their iPad deployment. Previously students received eight large binders of printed materials throughout the program. Now, this paper content has been converted to a digital format and the eight large binders have been replaced by an iPad.
This deployment has proven to be successful in the eyes of the students as well as the faculty. If you would like to learn more about the MBOE iPad deployment, please visit the Fisher iPads in Education site. Also on this site you will find resources about how the iPad and mobile technology are being rolled out and utilized across Ohio State. A new campus wide group entitled iPads in the Classroom has been formed to discuss and bring together ideas surrounding this growing trend. The first meeting of this group with be held in conjunction with the preexisting campus group Exploring Learning Technologies on September 20th from 10:00AM – 11:30 AM in PAES 143. All are welcome at this meeting and no registration is required.
If you would like to explore further how mobile technologies and the iPad can be used in your situation, the EdTech Group at Fisher can help. Please contact the Fisher ITS Helpdesk to begin exploring the possibilities.
