Lab 2 – System Analysis 1

After reviewing the data from the only propeller test completed the team could not make a tentative decision on a propeller design for the future AEV build. What was discovered from the data was the power settings which utilized the most power efficiency. Being set at 25% the power efficiency of the propeller was about 235%. This could provide a solution to a problem that does not require speed so much as it requires the AEV to operate for extended periods of time.

Though the team could not conduct further tests on various propellers this lab provided useful in getting a handle on how strong the provided motors are. This allows the team to effectively make a smaller, albeit a less efficient, propeller  to reduce weight on the AEV which could be utilized in other ways. As well as learning motor strength the team gathered information on efficient operating levels of the motors controlled by the Arduino which, as previously stated, will allow the team to extend the battery usage for extended tasks.
