Meeting 3

Date/Time: 2/20/2018 at 5:30 pm

Members present: Evamaria Nazario-Maldonado, Xinyi Zhang, Wang Jingyuan

Assigned Tasks:

  • Progress Report Redo-Xinyi Zhang, Evamaria Nazario-Maldonado, Wang Jingyuan
  • Website Update 3-Evamaria Nazario-Maldonado, Xinyi Zhang
  • Oral Presentation(with visuals)-Wang Jingyuan, Xinyi Zhang, Evamaria Nazario-Maldonado
  • Progress Report 2-Wang Jingyuan, Xinyi Zhang, Evamaria Nazario-Maldonado

First Decision: Distribute parts for the redo of the Progress Report to individual team members.

Reason: Dividing the work allows for less stress and more cooperation from team members as well as providing accountability for the writing of the document. Furthermore, the Progress Report did not acquire a grade of at least a 90% and as the report is worth 80 points, it must be redone to raise the team’s grade.

Second Decision: Write the content of the oral presentation using Google Docs and make the presentation using the visuals from the advanced R and D labs.

Reason: Using Google Docs allows for all the team members to edit. Also, the oral presentation must have visuals that demonstrate what the team has been doing for the research and development labs.

Third Decision:  Ask the GTA for more open-lab time to complete the Advanced Research and Development lab through email.

Reason: The website update requires data from the previous labs done plus the oral presentation is to inform the company and other teams the results of the labs done with the AEV.

Fourth Decision: Assign roles for the next progress report to individual team members.

Reason: Due to the amount of work that must be done to answer the progress report questions, one person cannot possibly write it all by themselves.

Meeting 4

Date/Time: 3/2/2018 at 4 pm

Members present: Evamaria Nazario-Maldonado, Xinyi Zhang, Jingyuan Wang

Assigned Tasks:

  • Progress Report 2-Xinyi Zhang, Jingyuan Wang, Evamaria Nazario-Maldonado

First Decision: Distribute the progress report into parts and then revise it on Monday.

Reason: This gives a buffer for accountability as all team members are working on separate parts and at the end, one person can check through the whole report for grammar and professionalism.

Second Decision: Prepare for peer-teaching class by watching videos and using media to teach the strategies to be used in SolidWorks.

Reason: The team members need knowledge of SolidWorks to enable the AEV to work, so sharpening their skills and helping each other out is beneficial for all the team and prepares for the pre-Class 15 Quiz due Monday.

Meeting 5

Date/Time: 3/16/2018 at 11:30 am

Members present: Xinyi Zhang, Evamaria Nazario-Maldonado, Jingyuan Wang

Assigned Tasks:

• CDR Draft-Xinyi Zhang, Evamaria Nazario-Maldonado, Jingyuan Wang
a. Prototype SolidWorks Designs-Xinyi Zhang, Jingyuan Wang
b. Executive Summary/Introduction/Experimental Methodology/Revise grammar-Evamaria Nazario-Maldonado
c. Advanced R&D Results/Observations from run-Jingyuan Wang
d. Screening & Scoring Matrices/ Conclusions & Recommendations-Xinyi Zhang
e. Future Schedule/Results -Tiankai Cui
• Performance Test 1-Jingyuan Wang, Xinyi Zhang, Evamaria Nazario-Maldonado

First Decision: Discuss the requirements of the CDR Draft and assign roles for the CDR Draft lab report.
Reason: This allows for more work to be accomplished in less time as the CDR draft is due next Thursdays and it needs an appendix, data, future schedule and the SolidWorks AEV designs from both prototypes tested in Performance Test 1.

Second Decision: Update results on Performance Test 1-Week 9 Lab on website.
Reason: The final website update encompasses all the results and conclusions from labs so having teammates place the graphs/code while someone else writes the conclusions/edits it and the website administrator formats it to the proper engineering standards/
Third Decision: Collaborate on writing the CDR Draft in a Google Doc as a team.

Reason: Not only does this allow for easy editing from other team members on work, but also provides a sense of accountability by informing other team members how much work has been accomplished so far.

Meeting 6

Date/Time: 3/20/2018 at 8:30 pm

Members present: Xinyi Zhang, Tiankai Cui

Assigned Tasks:

  • CDR Draft-Xinyi Zhang, Evamaria Nazario-Maldonado, Jingyuan Wang, Tiankai Cui
  • Debrief Tiankai Cui-Xinyi Zhang, Tiankai Cui
  • Prepare for Performance Test 1-Jingyuan Wang, Xinyi Zhang, Evamaria Nazario-Maldonado, Tiankai Cui

First Decision: Debiref Tiankai Cui in the undertakings of the team.

Reason: In order to relieve stress from team members, encourgage team member cooperation and facilitate accountability for Division A, Tiankai Cuui was caught up with the Preliminary R and D, Advanced R and D plus the current Performance Tests so as to contribute actively from now on and not miss.

Second Decision: Split up roles of CDR Draft and set up another meeting to meet with the whole team to write the rest of the document with Tiankai using the new information from the Performance Tests.

Reason: The runs for Performance Test 1 have not been completed yet and writing the document togetehr on a Google Doc. Then, having a person be in charge of the formatting and transfer it to Word fosters a sense of accountability and allows for feedback especially on the more concise parts like the executive summary( abstract) which can only be completed after all the other parts are written.

Meeting 7

Date/Time: 4/7/2018 at 1:30 pm

Members present: Xinyi Zhang, Jingyuan Wang, Evamaria Nazario-Maldonado, Tiankai Cui

Assigned Tasks:

  • Final Oral Presentation Draft-Jingyuan Wang, Evamaria Nazario-Maldonado, Jingyuan Wang, Tiankai Cui
  • Final Website Update-Evamaria Nazario-Maldonado
  • Prepare for Final Performance test-Jingyuan Wang. Xinyi Zhang

First Decision: Split up the parts of the Oral presentation and add placeholders/gathered data to Google Slides by Sunday night.

Reason: Speeds up process of completing the rough draft of presentation and acts as a system of accountability to make sure work is done.

Second Decision: Add code/data as of now to Division A website.

Reason: It allows for missing gaps in information to be seen as well as reducing the amount of input needed for the Final Website Update before the due date.

Meeting 8

Date/Time: 4/14/2018 at 2  pm

Members present: Xinyi Zhang, Evamaria Nazario-Maldonado, Jingyuan Wang, Tiankai Cui

  • Final Website Update-Evamaria Nazario-Maldonado, Xinyi Zhang
  • Final CDR Revise/submit-Jingyuan Wang, Xinyi Zhang, Evamaria Nazario-Maldonado, Tiankai Cui

First Decision: Divide parts of presentation to speak among team members.

Reason: As a result, team members can become familiar with their slides and practice speaking out loud their parts.

Second Decision: Revise CDR to its final draft and add new data/analysis for rest of performance tests not documented.

Reason: Using the current rough draft as a template as well as the instructor’s comments,                                                                                                                                                                                                  it possible to edit the original text/figures as well as introduce new text/figures to the  document                                                                                                                                                                                and using less time in the process.
