Coasting vs Power Breaking

1. Some pros and cons of coast braking are that while it uses less energy than power braking, it coasts for a long distance and there is no definitive way to control where the AEV while stop. Some pros and cons of power braking are that the AEV will stop more accurately and precisely, but exerts much more energy.

3. The team will be using power braking moving forward as we think that it will help us accomplish our MCR better than coasting will. The mean distance of the braking distance using power braking was 18.302 marks versus the coasting’s 134.981 marks. There are still some improvements we can make so the power braking uses less energy.
