Meeting 1
Team Q Meeting Minutes
Brooklyn Pugh, Katie Gressley, Annelese Mascoe, Matt D’Andrea
When: January 17th, 2018 at 7:00 PM
Location: The Ohio Union
Attendance: All Group Members Present
Katie suggested to meet up prior to lab this week to start the building of our AEV. All group members agreed to a time and place. Katie brought the AEV kit to The Ohio Union. All group members pitched in to help begin building the AEV. Matt updated the company’s website with Team Q’s Mission Concept Review. Annelese downloaded and printed the documents to follow when building the AEV. Brooklyn took meeting minutes and made sure all discussions were documented. Our team decided that we would work on smooth acceleration and deceleration of the AEV rather than accuracy of the sensing start and stoping positions. We thought this would be a better use of our time and materials.
There are many tasks that still need to be handled. All team members are attending lab this week (Thursday) so we can finish the building of our AEV. Brooklyn is going to be in charge of keeping our website up to date. Katie will be in charge of always keeping and bringing the kit to all labs and team meetings. If she is going to be absent, she will contact another team member to make sure that the team still has access to the kit when needed/wanted. The team scheduled a meeting for January 24th, 2018 at the same time and place. Team Q will work with Teams I and O in order to have our website up-to-date by the next Website Update (January 25). At the next meeting, we will discuss what else needs to be done for Progress Report 1. Meeting ended at 7:45 PM.

Brooklyn Pugh, Katie Gressley, Annelese Mascoe, Matt D’Andrea
When: January 25th, 2018 at 11:10 AM
Location: Hitchcock Room #224
Attendance: All Group Members Present
All group members came to lab with individual sketches of AEV ideas. Only some sketches were dimensioned so it was discussed that sketches without dimensions would need to be edited before the progress report was due. We compared individual sketches to each other and decided on features we liked and disliked. We kept the goal in mind of using as least amount of material as possible to save money while still working properly. However, when it came time to build the group’s AEV model, more material was used than expected.
For Lab 4, the group made code in preparation of testing our AEV model on the railing. After uploading the code to the Arduino, we first tested the AEV on our table to ensure its safety. Then, we placed the AEV on the railing above the classroom, tested it, and observed its movements for anything that we should consider changing. We noticed a balancing issue and made the necessary changes to ensure it will not happen again. We also evaluate the data using the Analysis Tool on MATlab and made two graphs that evaluates the AEV’s energy usage.
Meeting 2

Brooklyn Pugh, Katie Gressley, Annelese Mascoe, Matt D’Andrea
When: January 27th, 2018 at 12:00 PM
Location: Houck House Lobby
Attendance: Brooklyn, Katie, and Annelese
Our group met at Houck House on Saturday after attending Professor Busick’s SolidWorks help session. Since our group had not yet completed Labs 3 and 4, our group compared our individual sketches and decided what things we liked and disliked. We then built our AEV using those factors and sketched a picture of our AEV. Photos of our individual sketches and the finished group AEV were published onto our company’s website. Katie was in charge of making sure our AEV had everything that we wanted. Annelese worked on making the glossary of programming codes we used. Brooklyn took notes and meeting minutes for the group. Matt was unable to attend the meeting due to scheduling difficulties. However, through text messages, he drew a sketch of the new group AEV after it was all built.
Tasks were assigned to each group member that needed to be done. Brooklyn would update the website with all the group’s individual and team AEV sketches. She also would post the meeting minutes. Katie would dissemble the AEV enough for it to fit in the box and bring it to lab on Thursday. Annelese would post the finished glossary on the website. Matt would finish the AEV sketch and send a picture to Brooklyn to upload. Anything else due after lab on Thursday will be discussed in class as needed. Meeting ended at 1:30 PM.

Our group met up in the Houck House lobby to focus on getting the progress report finished. Matt was unable to make it due to band practice, however, he did his part of the report outside of the meeting. The progress report was split evenly between group members. Annelese transferred the coding appendix and already made graphs into the report. Katie began to fill out the screening and scoring matrices based off each of our individual designs and input. Brooklyn finished typing up meeting minutes for Lab 3&4 and this current meeting. Matt combined the bullet points discussed by the group in lab for the lab deliverables into easy-to-understand paragraphs.
Outside of the meeting, all members were to go back and dimension their individual sketch if not already done so. If the member did not finish what they were assigned to get done, they were to finish by 6 PM Wednesday so the report could be completed and reviewed before the turn-in date. Our group also will plan on using any extra time given in class on Wednesday to work on the progress report. The meeting ended at 8 PM.
