October 28, 2022.: BEAL Forum 5 took place on Friday, 28 October 2022. See BEAL Forum 5 webpage for further details, including Program, a Program Book (in pdf format), etc. While this event, was held virtually via Zoom, and free and open to the public, Registration was required in order for us to provide attendees with the Zoom links.

February 24, 2021: BEAL Forum 4 took place on Friday, 5 March 2021, postponed from its usual autumn schedule. The Program is online, along with a Program Book (in PDF format). While the event is free and open to the public, Registration is required in order for us to provide attendees with the Zoom links.
October 26, 2020: Our BEAL Forum is returning this academic year, but delayed to Spring Semester 2021. BEAL Forum 4 will take place on Friday, 5 March 2021. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, student presentation sessions will consist of oral, 15-minute presentations via Zoom. The event is free and open to the public, although registration will be required in order to obtain the Zoom links.

James H-Y. Tai Buckeye East Asian Linguistics Fund
(Fund Number: 647101)
Established on June 8, 2018, with a gift from Dr. James H-Y. Tai, former professor in the Department of East Asian Languages and Literatures at The Ohio State University (1986-1995), the James H-Y. Tai Buckeye East Asian Linguistics Fund supports the academic activities of graduate and undergraduate students and faculty whose primary field of research is East Asian (Chinese/Japanese/Korean) linguistics in the Department of East Asian Languages and Literatures.
We express our deepest gratitude to Dr. James H-Y. Tai for his generosity and good will in giving us a permanent source of support and a basis for additional donations from our friends, colleagues, and alumni. We strongly encourage those who would like to support East Asian Linguistics at Ohio State University to consider donating to this endowment fund. Thanks!

August 22, 2016: Classes at The Ohio State University begins tomorrow, and we are well underway in our planning of BEAL Forum 2, to be held on Friday, 21 October 2016 at the OSU campus in Columbus, Ohio.

September 22, 2015: The Buckeye East Asian Linguistics Forum (BEAL Forum) is simplified to Buckeye East Asian Linguistics (BEAL), to enable the website to serve multiple functions. Beginning Autumn 2015, the website will support two activities: 1) BEAL Forum, and 2) BEAL Publications.
