Approach to the Mission Concept Review:
As Division C of Baker International Group we are approaching the Mission Concept Review which outlines individual objectives of the Advanced Energy Vehicle very open minded. We are planning to follow the outlined schedule as well as dividing up the work evenly among us primarily based on one another’s strengths. However, if additional time is needed we will meet as a group outside of class to execute each task. Mackenzie will be taking and uploading meeting notes for consistency which will be referenced as a means of keeping track of prior achievements. Progress reports, proposals, and presentations, will be planned and written as a group. Likely through the division of work at an initial meeting and a second follow up meeting going over and reviewing the parts to make everything cohesive.
Division C will complete research and development to become comfortable with the equipment in addition to determining which motor quantity and energy configurations will maximize energy efficiency and minimize cost. This will be done through three main areas focusing on capital cost of the AEV, time costs, in addition to energy costs. The team will coordinate with the other two divisions to implement additional research and development that will further increase efficiency and lower cost prior to completing final performance testing such as push vs. pull configurations and materials testing. Overall a cost and energy efficient monorail transportation system capable of stopping and picking up cargo will be produced.
