Performance Testing

Performance Test 1:

The goal of performance test one was to have the AEV approach the gate and stop. This triggered the first sensor and opened the gate after seven seconds (assuming the second sensor is not triggered). The reflectance sensor was used in Performance Test one in order to measure the distance the AEV needed to travel before stopping at the gate.

Performance Test 2:

The goal of performance test two was to have the AEV pass through the open gate (see Performance Test 1) and attach the caboose in the caboose loading zone. The AEV then waited five seconds before returning to its starting position in the Final Performance Test.

Final Performance Test

The goal of the Final Performance Test was to pull the caboose back to the gate. Wait another seven seconds, then proceed through the gate and stop in the final zone (the same area where the AEV originally started from). The results listed below are from all three of group A’s Final Performance Test runs.
