Through three months of designing and testing, Group A of Baker International worked on creating an AEV that was reliable, energy efficient, quick, and most importantly safe. The team’s focus for this project was to create an AEV that was not just practical but also had unique design. As seen below, the team implemented a T-base that was hung vertically to be the main chassis of the vehicle. The team found that this design optimized propeller force, 10 gmf, which will allow it to carry large loads without a problem.
How does this compare with our competition? By comparing Group A’s final run to the average runs of the competition, it was found that:
- This AEV costs $1,000 less
- Saves over 60 joules of energy per run
- Completes a run in 3 less seconds
Group A is proud to have created this safe and efficient AEV and will be honored to work with the City of Columbus in order to make the AEV a reality for the public.
