My name is Maci Baker and I’m from Convoy, Ohio. I went to a small school that strived to be academically and athletically successful. I played volleyball and was an active member of the National Honor Society. Throughout my four years of high school, I spent multiple hours bettering myself by doing random acts of kindness and community service. At least once a week I went down to the special education room and spent time with the kids in there. My previous experiences volunteering with them led me to want to pursue a career in occupational therapy in order to continue helping kids with disabilities and brightening their days. With this goal in mind, I knew I needed to choose a college that would help me get the greatest education possible; therefore, The Ohio State University was top on my list.
During my first visit at Ohio State, I knew that this was where I wanted to call home. There are endless opportunities here and the atmosphere is indescribable. I continued to work hard in all my academics to insure I had a spot in The Ohio State University’s Class of 2021. Once I got accepted, I began furthering my goals on what I wanted to do at Ohio State and being apart of Honors & Scholars became a priority! The Humanitarian Engineering Scholars group seemed perfect for me because I would have the opportunity to come up with ways to better the human race. I’m looking forward to seeing where this scholars group, as well as Ohio State as a whole, takes me.
