The forest industry greatly benefits Southeastern Ohio, where it generates total economic activities of 12,000 jobs and $2.5 billion to the state’s economy. A key contributor to this impact is Superior Hardwoods of Ohio, Inc. Founded in 1971 by Emmett Conway Jr., Superior is the state’s largest green lumber producer.
The “Day in the Woods-Second Friday Program”, which is normally offered at the Vinton Furnace State Forest, will travel to Superior Hardwoods of Ohio, Inc. in Wellston for a June 13 “From Trees to Lumber” program. The program will start at 9 am at Superior Hardwoods of Ohio, Inc., 134 Wellston Industrial Park Rd, Wellston, OH 45692.
