Cloverbud STEM Day

Cornell Cooperative Extension | STEM

Ohio 4-H Cloverbud program is for youth age 5 and in Kindergarten until they reach project member age. Cloverbuds explore a variety of topics related to health, environment, community, and STEM(Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics). The Cloverbud program provides an excellent opportunity for each individual to reach his/her highest potential because early life experiences affect future development. Cloverbud STEM day includes activities led by older youth in the county.

This fun and educational event will be held on Monday April 5th, 2021 at Riecker Building, third floor. There will be two sessions offered, the first one being from 10 am- 12 pm and the second one from 1 pm- 3 pm. It is open to any cloverbud in Morgan county.  Cost for the event is $5 this can be turned in by mail, dropped off to the extension office or turned in at the start of the event.

Important Enrollment Information

Enrollment Deadline: April 1st, 2021

Emails have been sent out to families that have an email registered in our system. For those that do not have an email address in the system, letters were mailed out. Make sure you read through the step by step guide to help complete your enrollment.

New 4-H Members

Contact our office to find a club and learn about projects. Once you know your club and the projects you wish to take, you can create an account in 4honline. Be sure to meet with the club advisors before enrolling in that club.

4-H Black And White Photo Challenge

Minnesota 4-H Photography is excited to offer a photo challenge open to Midwest youth in grades K-13!waterfalls at a park

Explore the world in TONES with a black and white photography challenge! We encourage you to play with shadows, look at texture, and layer dark and light tones to create stunning black and white photographs. More information and rules for the challenge can be found here.

Submit up to three (3) jpg or jpeg images to fourhphoto@umn.edu by 11:59 p.m. on March 15, 2021.

Healthy Living Tip Sheets: Here’s a variety of topics designed to help you and your family consider different aspects of positive mental health.

Coping with COVID Curriculum: This is a collection of ten lesson plans focused on mental, emotional, and social health during the current pandemic. These lessons may be taught virtually or in-person and include by facilitation tips and tricks, Ohio Department of Education Standards, and suggested evaluation.. This curriculum was created by the Ohio 4-H Healthy Living Design Team and can be requested at go.osu.edu/CopingWithCOVID.

National 4-H Council commissioned a mental health survey of teens in 2020. The Harris Poll found that 7 in 10 teens are struggling with their mental health in the wake of COVID-19. More than half of those surveyed said the pandemic increased their feelings of loneliness, with 64% believing it will have a lasting impact on their mental health. The survey was among the first to examine the impact this unprecedented public health crisis has had on U.S. teens. Take the Leap

Take the leap is a career readiness program that consists of 6 sessions to help youth prepare for their future. It is open to any 4-H member ages 13-18. You must register by January 24, 2020 at go.osu.edu/taketheleap. For more information about the course see the flyer.
