FINAL REMINDER — Camp Counselor 2022 Application Due December 3rd

The camp counselor program is open to any 4-H member 15 years old as January 1, 2022. Camp counselors attend trainings and workdays to learn skills to help prepare for a leadership role at camp. Camp Counselors help develop camp theme and plan the camp schedule and activities. Application are online see the URL below and due by 4:30 pm on December 3rd. We need a minimum of 16 camp counselors to have overnight camp. (NOTE: We have not received the minimum of 16 yet.)

State Achievement Awards for 2022

Ohio 4-H offers a wide variety of opportunities for teens to develop knowledge, skills, attitudes, and aspirations needed for success. Opportunities for teens begin at the local 4-H club level and expand to the county, state, national, and international levels through various awards, boards, travel experiences, and camping opportunities.

By annually completing and submitting your Ohio 4-H Achievement Record, you could be eligible to be selected for these various opportunities. State 4-H Achievement Awards and National 4-H Congress. 27 award recipients receive a trip to National 4-H Congress in Atlanta, Georgia held in November each year.

Reminder of the Older Youth in-training (OYIT) Deadline

OYIT is program for 4-H members 13 years old as of January 1, 2022. It is a year to learn more about all the older youth programs that become available to youth at 14+ years old in 4-H years. In addition, you help plan Cloverbud Day Camp and the program is REQUIRED to be a CIT (Counselor in Training) in 2023. 4-H members that are interested need to complete the interest form by December 15, 2021 at the following URL.

Deadline Reminder for Older Youth Applications

Older youth applications and letters were mailed out in early November. This opportunity will allow you to learn about scholarships, awards, workforce and life skills, and other leadership opportunities beyond the county level. Explore your leadership skills and build a strong foundation to stand on once you become a caring and contributing citizen in society. Even if you are unsure, we encourage you to complete the application; you can always reconsider.

Entrepreneur Skill Building Opportunity

Do you know any youth that are interested in taking over the family farm, starting their own farm, or owning their own business in the agriscience industry? Please pass on attached flyer to anyone that is interested in attending Agricultural Entrepreneurship Camp on the weekend of September 24-26. Open to all youth that are in high school. Cloverbud STEM Day

Cornell Cooperative Extension | STEM

Ohio 4-H Cloverbud program is for youth age 5 and in Kindergarten until they reach project member age. Cloverbuds explore a variety of topicsrelated to health, environment, community, and STEM(Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics). The Cloverbud program provides an excellent opportunity for each individual to reach his/her highest potential because early life experiences affect future development. Cloverbud STEM day includes activities led by older youth in the county.

This fun and educational event will be held on Monday June 7th, 2021 at the Riecker Building, third floor(Extension office). There will be two sessions offered, the first one being from 10 am- 12 pm and the second one from 1 pm- 3 pm. It is open to any Cloverbud in Morgan county.  Cost for the event is $5, this can be turned in by mail, dropped off to the extension office or turned in at the start of the event.

Ready? Set? Draw!

Design the artwork for the Send S’more Kids to 4-H Camp fundraising campaign! It’s a contest to select the artwork we’ll use on incentives offered during the campaign that is to help raise funds for our Ohio 4-H camping facilities. Any 4-H member may submit a design. All entries must be submitted by Wednesday, May 12. There is a junior(4-H age 8-13) and a senior(4-H age 14-18) division.
