2019 Cloverbot Challenge: When I Grow Up

The 2019 Ohio 4-H Cloverbot Challenge will be held on Saturday, June 29 at the Nationwide & Ohio Farm Bureau 4-H Center.  Deadline for registration is May 1.  Flyer: 2019 Cloverbot Challenge[1]-1tg9g2l

A firefighter, a scientist, a teacher, an accountant, a farmer, a game designer, a veterinarian…what do you want to be when you grow up? The 2019 4-H Cloverbot Challenge is all about careers and learning what it takes to do that special job.

Explore
Cloverbot teams will spend their time finding out about possible occupations. As a team, narrow your list to one or two similar careers:
• What is the demand for your chosen job?
• What skills are needed?
• Do you need to go to college or technical school? How long?
• What are benefits and why are they important to a job?
• Where do you do your job?

The Challenge
Use the answers to one or more of these questions and find the challenges related to that profession, then create your model showing the occupation in action.

2019 4-H Cloverbot Challenge

The 4-H Cloverbot Challenge is a statewide event designed just for our youngest 4-H’ers – Cloverbuds.  Teams work together to research a topic, build a model out of interlocking bricks and create a poster highlighting their experience. On June 29, the teams will come together at the Nationwide & Ohio Farm Bureau 4-H Center to share their work, visit with one another, participate in kid-friendly activities, and celebrate their efforts with a closing celebration and award ceremony.

Teams may have a minimum of two members, but no more than eight, and are coached by an adult team leader. Details and registration information can be found at https://ohio4h.org/families/cloverbuds/cloverbot-challenge

2018 Cloverbud News Blog Format

Ohio 4-H Cloverbud Connections has been a resource for 4-H volunteers and Extension staff since the 1990’s. The newsletter started as a print version and later transitioned to a blended online and printable resource. The quarterly resource has grown to include a variety of Click it, Print it, Do it activities that are easily accessible and readily available for volunteers. The editors are pleased to announce a new format that will allow readers to subscribe to the site and receive an email notification when new posts are added. The site is searchable by key words and topic to help readers find content. New posts will be added monthly rather than quarterly in the previous format. The new format will continue to provide a unique blend of education, activities, and fun to build and challenge 4-H Cloverbud Volunteers teaching kindergarten through second grade youth. 2018 Ohio 4-H Cloverbot Astro Challenge for Cloverbuds

The Ohio 4-H Cloverbot Challenge is blasting off for 2018! This year the theme is all about space and learning ways in which humans could live in space for extended periods. This is a great event where Cloverbuds work in teams to problem-solve using STEM skills. Teams research the topic, build a model of their solution out of interlocking bricks (ie: Mega Blocks), create a poster illustrating their work and present to families and other teams at the Cloverbot Challenge on June 9 at the Nationwide & Ohio Farm Bureau 4-H Center.
