Through the generous sponsorship of Anthony and Maria Cassel, DeOntae Wright was a 2015 Humanities and Cognitive Sciences High School Summer Institute Scholar. The Cassels are dedicated to creating infrastructure and opening doors for educational opportunities for future generations of underrepresented students in the United States and in Central America.
Meet DeOntae: I am 17 years old, going into my senior year at Columbus Downtown High School. My home school is Northland. When I graduate I’d either want to become a teacher, an Environmental Scientist or a Chemist because I believe that science is amazing and fascinating beyond extent. Things that I do at home are typical teen things such as watching movies and playing video games. I love to hang out with my family all the time, anytime that I can. I am planning on getting an electric guitar in a few months because my sisters and I want to start some sort of a band.
