Committees

The Chair shall appoint all committees, taking into account the stated preferences of Staff Council representatives and giving priority to those with shorter remaining terms. These committees shall be appointed promptly after the annual meeting. There will be a lead person selected for each committee who will serve as the point-person for that committee.

Staff Appreciation
This committee is primarily responsible for notifying new staff members about the council, promoting recognition of Staff achievements, creating professional development opportunities for Staff, and organizing events relating to staff appreciation. This committee is responsible for organizing the Staff Appreciation Ice Cream Social (July) and the summer Food Trucks (May, June, July).

Communications
This committee is primarily responsible for providing information to Staff on available programs and services provided by the Wooster Campus Staff Council. The committee will draft communications from the Wooster Campus Staff Council, take photos at events, update the website and marketing materials, and research Staff needs and desires as needed. The committee is also responsible for the monthly Spotlight on Staff releases and event recaps.

Special Events
This committee is primarily responsible for the planning of special events. This includes After Hours events (April/July), the Wayne County Fair (Sept.) and the Fall Festival (Oct). The group will be responsible for narrowing down potential dates and locations as needed, ensuring that all sign up slots are filled, and reporting planning information during meetings. Specifically regarding the fair, the committee lead and WCSC Chair will meet with the Wooster Campus Director’s Office and OSU Extension leads starting in May to plan the booth content.

This includes Goodwill Donations during ATI move out (April/May), donations for Chili Cook-Off (February) and Funfest (August), Winter Bell Ringing (December), and any other volunteer events throughout the year.
