Team 7 Reflection

Doing this activity with the team went pretty smoothly. When we are able to bounce ideas off each other, it allowed for more innovation, faster ideation, even though most of the ideas we created will go nowhere. We would not have wanted to do this alone, because we inevitably would have gotten ‘writer’s block’ and not produced anything new or interesting. Frankly, this entire field is completely dependent upon collaboration and teamwork. No one was ever successful completely alone, and this task in particular really showed that to be the case. In terms of pushing past initial ideas and creating new ones, sometimes it felt redundant and unnecessary considering we had already created several ideas we knew we wanted to pursue, but in the end we created at least one idea in the variations that was worth prototyping, so it ended up being worth it. We feel like a lot of the new ideas ended up being silly, or filler, or unrealistic, but in the end, after trimming the fat, the ideas we landed on prototyping were worth the effort and certainly worth the time we put into creating them. Our only concern going forward is how we will make our prototypes, where will our materials come from, what kind of quality is expected of us, how time and $ intensive will it be, will the prototypes be sufficient in getting the concept behind them across to the class, etc etc etc.
