Student Org Spotlight: Buckeye Leadership Fellows (BLF)

Currently celebrating its 5th year, Buckeye Leadership Fellows bring alumni and community leaders together with students through workshops, weekly Leadership Luncheons, personal development activities and immersive experiences.

The Buckeye Leadership Fellows provides undergraduate students a competitive advantage in their post-graduate pursuits by teaching students how to understand and process complex issues and problems that may not have a clear answer. For their office in the Ohio Union, BLF partners with alumni and community leaders to help students achieve a competitive advantage in their post-graduate pursuits and remain deeply connected to the university.

September marks the beginning of BLF’s Leadership Challenge Month, a seven-week, real-world internship experience. Small groups attempt to solve problems facing businesses and non-profits in the area with assistance from Ohio State alumni and influential Columbus professionals.  Tyler Moore, a member of Buckeye Leadership Fellows, emphasizes that the Leadership Challenge Month “provides a chance to experience real world problems with the opportunity to work with companies who allow you to become involved in their problem solving processes.”

Current second-year students at The Ohio State University-Columbus Campus who are interested in being a part of a multidisciplinary approach to develop both professionally and personally should apply to the Buckeye Leadership Fellows Program at beginning in October 2015.
