As a result, I’ve created this resource guide to help you navigate challenges in your personal and academic life. Search and filter through OSU’s health and wellness resources and services.
Student Life Disability Services
Registered students are approved for accommodations that eliminate barriers to college success. Some examples of accommodations include adaptive transportation, reduced course loads, and attendance modifications.
SMART Lab
The Stress Management and Resiliency Training (SMART) Lab offers biofeedback services that teach students stress reduction and relaxation techniques to improve overall wellness. They emphasize the link between ones emotional state and physiological wellbeing.
Integrative Health Recordings
Recordings include guided imagery, mindfulness, heart centered practices, and relaxation response. These practices can help you reduce symptom of stress, anxiety, depression, and invoke feelings of relaxation.

Black Mental Health
Resources specific to Black Ohio State students including programs, consultations, and self-care information.
Body Image Resources
A variety of resources related to body image and nutrition, including podcasts, books, screening tools, and treatment options.
Nutrition Coaching
Nutrition coaches discuss topics including body image and disordered eating.
Wellness Coaching
Coaches assist you in your personal development and can provide support in areas such as stress management, navigating transitions, relationships, and improving self-confidence. Sessions last 45 minutes via Zoom or in-person.
PsychBytes
PsychBytes is a podcast from OSU’s Counseling and Consultation Services. They discuss mental health topics, commonly asked questions, available resources, and education catered towards college students.
Emotional Fitness
This blog contains tips and skills for mental health. Each post is supported by research and references are included.
Drop-in workshops
Workshops include topics such as Coping with Current Events, How to Survive College 101, and Mental Health practices.
Group Counseling
A variety of psychoeducational and skills groups, interpersonal, and affinity groups.
“Let’s Talk” consultations
These are 15-20 minute phone or Zoom consultations for students who may not need ongoing counseling. Staff are mental health professionals who can provide new insight and solutions to a problem, provide advice, support, and link you to additional resources.
Individual Therapy
Counseling and Career Services offers one-on-one counseling for students. You must schedule a phone screening to begin receiving services, which should take about 10-15 minutes to complete.
Embedded Clinicians
Clinicians housed within the colleges and departments across OSU. They have more familiarity with the students within their area and can be reached via email for referrals and resources in addition to counseling services.
Psychological Services Center
Currently offers a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) Clinic to provide free, evidence-based treatment for depression and anxiety.
Collegiate Recovery Community
Provides support and social opportunities for students currently in or seeking recovery.
Community Provider Database
Find mental health providers off campus. You can filter by insurance, theoretical approach, treatment concern, provider gender, ethnicity, and more.
Partial Hospitalization and Intensive Outpatient Programs
Provides higher levels of mental health services for those who need treatment more often but do not need to be admitted to an inpatient setting.
Crisis Assistance
Crisis hotlines and emergency psychiatric resources. I would recommend saving at least one hotline number in your phone in case you or a loved one experiences a crisis situation.

The DLC offers academic coaching, workshops, courses, and study tips to teach successful academic skills, such as time-management, note taking, study skills, and procrastination.

Religious Accommodations
Students can receive reasonable accommodations regarding exams, academic requirements, and attendance to participate in religious activities. Students must notify their instructors (in writing) within the first 14 days of the course of their expected dates of absence.

Resources for LGBTQ students and allies. Includes a variety of information on ways to get involved on campus, access to mental and physical health care, and much more.
Drop-in workshops
The Relationship 101 workshop discusses the different phases of romantic relationships, communication skills, and how to deal with a breakup. This workshop meets 9/18, 9/25, 10/2, and 10/9 from 3-4pm on Zoom.
Respectful Dialogue Toolkit
Learn how to implement strategies for respectful dialogue in challenging conversations through workshops and online resources.
Physical Health
Nutrition Coaching
Meet one-on-one with a coach to learn how to improve wellness through nutrition. Some common topics of discussion include meal planning and grocery shopping, body image and disordered eating, food allergies and dietary preferences, and health concerns.
Nutrition Therapy
Appointments are with a Registered Dietician and include a nutritional assessment, counseling, and education for nutrition-related conditions and/or diseases.

Buckeye Food Alliance
On-campus food pantry available for all OSU students. They provide fresh produce, pantry items, meat, dairy products, personal care items and more. Create an appointment online to pick up your order.

Find information on health conditions, wellness, and prevention to make better-informed health decisions.
Wilce Student Health Center
On-campus health care that includes a wide range of services. All students can receive services and several insurance plans are accepted.
Columbus Public Health Clinics
Low-cost clinics including immunizations, alcohol and drug services, dental services, HIV testing/care, sexual health, and women’s health.
Student Life Disability Services

Tuition Option Payment Plan (TOPP)
Enroll in TOPP to divide the cost of tuition/housing/fees into installments. You must sign up each semester you’d like to be enrolled in TOPP.
Student Financial Aid
Learn about financial aid options, how to apply, and how to manage student loans.
FAFSA
Complete the FAFSA to apply for federal financial aid. The FAFSA website also includes extensive information on loans and grants as well as debt repayment.
Scarlet & Gray Financial Coaching
This is an educational service where coaches help students create a plan to achieve their financial goals. Some common areas of support include budgeting, banking basics, debt repayment, credit education, and financial goal setting.
iGrad
OSU’s personal finance platform. There are various financial tools, courses, and content to read on topics such as budgeting, saving for goals, and debt repayment.

Student Advocacy Center Mental Health Care Grant
This grant helps to alleviate stress and financial barriers involved with receiving mental health treatment. Maximum award is $2,000. Visit the website to learn about eligibility requirements and approved expenses.
Student Advocacy Center Student Emergency Fund
One-time emergency financial assistance for students who are at risk of dropping out due to an unexpected financial emergency. Examples of financial emergencies can be found on the website with eligibility requirements.
