This year, the Scarlet Gray and Green Fair will include tours! Tours will begin at the main desk of the Secrest Center.
Schedule –
11 am, 1 pm and 3 pm – Secrest Arboretum, Jason Veil, Curator, leader.
11 am, 1 pm – Quasar Anaerobic Digestor, Josh Andre, WCSEN, leader.
2:30 pm – OSU CFAES Wooster LEED buildings, EV charging station, Composting Facility, ATI PV teaching array, recycling center, Fred Michel, Professor, leader.
Details:
Secrest Arboretum walking tours will begin at 11 am, 1 pm and 3 pm. These will be given by Curator Jason Veil. Learn about new developments at the Arboretum including the new Welcome Center and GPS database of all plantings.
The 11 am and 1 pm tours will feature the Quasar Anaerobic digestor a short walk across the street from the Secrest Center.
The 2:30 pm tour will feature sustainability aspects of CFAES Wooster campus and include the OSU LEED Silver CFAES Wooster Science Building, EV Charging station, PV Solar teaching array and Wooster Composting Facility. Hear about how organics can be recycled to reduce climate change and displace chemical fertilizers made from fossil fuels. Rides will be provided as needed. Check with the Green car owners. An electric trolley will be used for this tour.
