My Interpretation
I simply labeled the flat hexaflexagon sides from 1 to 6 for clarity. 1 connects to 2 and 4, 2 connects to 3 and 5, and 3 connects to 1 and 6. 1,2, and 3 are the normal cycle of the folding paper, it can infinitely loop in or our on itself in this order, but if you go to 4, 5, or 6 theme you must return to the respective 1, 2, or 3 to continue looping. You are unable to go from 4 to 5 to 6 to 4. Using these sets of rules, the idea to create an exploration-type project came to mind. An early concept of the idea was the sides 1-3 being some sort of forest that one can get “lost” in, and hidden within (on sides 4-6) area treasure3s to find, the goal being to find all three. However, this concept was tough to follow and most people were unable to fully understand the proper way to use the flat hexaflexagon, so a redesign was necessary.
