Alexandra Fonseca
Alexandra obtained her B.S. in Chemical Engineering at the University of Puerto Rico – Mayagüez Campus in May 2021. There she worked with the synthesis and characterization of lignin-based polymers for photovoltaics applications as well as the synthesis of nano-treated alloys. She joined the Myers group in August 2021 where she is currently working on molecular beam epitaxy of thin films for exploring electronic, optical, and magnetic properties of low dimensional defects, including growth of II-VI and magnetic oxide semiconductors.

Alexander Blackston
Alexander obtained his B.S. in Physics from Marietta College in May 2022, where he helped research adsorbate induced effects on surface resistivity in gold thin films. He joined the Myers group in August 2022 where he works in our optical lab and is gaining skills in photocurrent spectroscopy, microelectronic device processing, and conducting non-local spin current measurements at low temperatures.”

Lauren (Lolo) Jones
Lolo earned her B.A. in Physics from New York University in May 2022, with a research background in acoustic imaging and signal processing. She joined the OSU Physics department in August 2022, where she started working on characterizing meta-materials using Terahertz spectroscopy. In April 2024, she joined the Myers group and continues to enhance her skills in Terahertz spectroscopy and optical alignment for complex systems.

Parsa Hosseinpour Sanati
Parsa obtained his B.S. in Materials science and engineering from Sharif University of Technology in 2022. He worked on utilizing the synthesis and characterization of TiO2-RGO nanocomposite with phosphorus and nitrogen dopants as efficient electrodes in CDI alongside his other project, the fabrication of Chitosan/Hydroxyapatite-based bone scaffolds. He joined the Myers group in May 2024 where he works on utilizing characterization techniques for investigating the optical, mechanical, and electronic properties of defects on semiconductors.

Undergraduates
Christian Allen
Christian is currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Materials Science and Engineering at Ohio State and is expected to graduate in December 2025. Joining for the summer of 2024, Christian is learning different aspects of the materials science realm within the Myers Group by working in multiple labs, which are the Optics lab and the Molecular Beam Epitaxy (MBE) lab. He assists with tasks and gets an in depth look at how to read and assemble and assess the functionality of different objects such as the MBE equipment, optics tables with lasers, and Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM).
