Welcome to the MINDSET Lab

  • Active nerve cells and DNA

The MINDSET lab (MRI Investigation of Neurodegenerative Disease, Stress Effects, and Traumatic Brain Injury), is a research lab that focuses on investigating the long-term impacts of psychological stress and traumatic brain injury on cognition and the brain, particularly how they may serve as risk factors for Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias. In addition, we explore the risk and resilience factors that contribute to brain health. To achieve this, we employ various neuroscience techniques like Magnetic Resonance Imaging, including structural T1-weighted imaging, diffusion tensor imaging, and fMRI, to investigate the possible connections between trauma and neurodegenerative diseases.

We are located within the Psychology Department at The Ohio State University, College of Arts and Sciences. Check out the MINDSET lab in the video below.
