Here at Ohio State University, we are fortunate to have several addiction experts to share their extensive knowledge on the subject. We have two of them here today, to discuss the important topic of Addiction, stigma, and person-first language. Dr. Julie Teater is an Associate Professor of Psychiatry specializing in Addiction Medicine. She also started and runs the first Addiction Medicine fellowship in Ohio and serves as the medical director of Talbot Hall- Ohio State University’s drug and alcohol treatment center. And We have Dr. Orman Trent Hall who is an Assistant professor of Psychiatry, also specializing in addiction medicine. Trent has served as the clinical lead for inpatient addiction medicine consult services at Ohio State University East Hospital and is a clinician researcher studying the relationship between chronic pain & addiction, addiction stigma, and epidemiology of overdose.
