Photo Reflection

Based on the “Best Jobs for You” quiz on payscale.com, the two jobs that were found for me were: Principal Architect and Staff engineer. In the remaining space here, I will briefly discuss each job, some data attached to it, and how it does (and does not) relate to my interests in career choice.

  1. Principal Architect

The first position PayScale recommended to me is Principal Architect. To be honest, I haven’t heard of this position before, but from the data, most of the people who are engaged in this position are more satisfied with the job. Most of them feel that they can realize their self-worth through this job. But at the same time, this job has high work pressure, which matches with the high salary, which is as high as 120 thousand dollars a year, because no one would want to work in a low wage and high-pressure job. The job that PayScale recommended to me was unexpected. First of all, I didn’t have any knowledge of architecture and was not interested in it. Secondly, I hope that my future work needs strong academic research as a foundation. I think my work has technical barriers, which means that I will not be easily replaced by others. But this job is more important than work experience (because only 33% of the people have master’s degrees, and the people holding the position are quite old (half were born between 1965 and 1981). But the satisfaction of the staff is very high. I think this is very important for your career because it will directly affect your enthusiasm for dealing with the work. If you have no passion for a job and just want to complain and suffer every day, I think it’s not far from quitting. But for me, I won’t choose this job.

  2. Staff Engineer

The second job recommended to me is staff engineer. The data shows that this job has higher job satisfaction than the previous one, but this one is not so stressful (42% of the people think it is low work pressure), and the annual salary is $94000 a year. But compared with my last job, the salary is a little lower, but it still meets my expectation of salary. This job also has no high requirements for education. But it is worth mentioning that this job is very attractive to young people, and most of them come from civil engineering. I have known about this major, because I am more interested in computer science and engineering, and I plan to learn some of them this semester. Therefore, compared with my last job, I prefer this job, because I have colleagues of the same age as me, so the working environment must be relatively relaxed and energetic, and the whole working team will be more creative. Lower work pressure, which is also good for my mental health. The most important thing is that my career is the direction I am interested in. I still hope to find a job that I am interested in while meeting the salary expectation. In this way, my enthusiasm for the work will be a little longer, and my sense of self-satisfaction will be a little more, and I will not be easily defeated by the work.

For me, I will put my professional interest in the first place, because I think if you are interested in this aspect, then you are sure that you will want to do well in it, constantly study him, want to reflect my value, then it is only a matter of time to present excellent work effect, and for me, I also prefer to be full of vitality and work experience A less demanding profession.
