The “best” job on the website for me is Design Director for interior design. This job mostly works on designing the interior of a building according to customer’s need. As the design director, you are the one who meet your customer and determine what they want. You also need to set up and manage your design teams, supervise design products. In addition, you shall review feedback and analyze data to improve both yourself and your team.
This job perfectly fits the preference I entered on the website and I’d like to choose it if I can. Unfortunately, I don’t think the job will choose me since I’m not good at design interior at all. Besides, this job has nothing related to my major, which is material science and engineering. Although both of them are “creative” and can “change the world”, they in two completely different areas and do completely different works. The salary of this job is relatively high (91,400$) and can get even more higher with enough experience and some certificate on design and CAD. And I believe design a good interior would give me a feeling of achievement and I would be happy if I truly solved my customer’s problem. As for the balance between satisfaction and salary, it is not a problem as long as they are both in a high degree. So, in conclusion, this is a well-paid meaningful job and it is not that stressful as long as you love design work, but it’s not for me.

Another job suggested by the website is Landscape Architect. That’s a special job since most of them are self-employed and running small operations. Their main job is to create attractive and functional outdoor space for their customer including homeowners, business owners and even municipal government. You will need to contact with your customer, engineers and building architects in order to complete your design. After that, a specific execute plan is also required.
It seems that the website will only give design jobs after I selected “creative work” and “want my job change the world”. In my eyes this one is better than the previous job but it still doesn’t fit me. The creative job that can change the world in my mind is making new materials instead of design. A Landscape Architect id more related to major “Landscape Architecture”. Although they do some of the engineer jobs, there is still huge difference between them. As for the salary, it’s not that much since most of them are self-employed (54,600$). But still, you can improve it by gaining more experience on design and communication. However, this job delivers more specific things than previous one, which means more sense of achievement and satisfaction. This is an important aspect since you need a reason to keep working on it while the job is not that well-paid. So, it is a good job for those who like designing a park, residential area or something like that, but still not my preference.
