I have taken Russian language classes for a while in junior high and up into college. This has really opened my eyes to other cultures and not just Russian. I have been invited to and celebrated many Russian, Ukrainian, and Kazakh holidays throughout the friends that I have made by having a common tongue. Tasting foods, dances, and most importantly hearing conversion and opinions. The most important thing in cultural experience is the diversification of thought; I have had that experience in the past and will continue to do so here. I want to make it a goal to join a culture club to further this enrichment.

A topic that would interest me to the point I would like to conduct research in would be the last economics impact on sudden downturns in the global markets. Examples of this would be the tech best in the 90s or the 2008 crash. I believe researching the impacts could reflect smart buying or selling opportunities along with ways to halt any further abuses of our global financial systems.

I chose Russian as one of my majors because after graduation I will commision as an officer in the USAF and I would like to apply for Special Tactics training and knowing a language of “National Interest” would not only increase your pay but also set yourself apart from all the other officers.
I chose Economics (BS) because after I retire from the USAF I would like to become a financial advisor or work for a fund as economics was in the center of the “What I like studying” and “What can I make money doing” venn diagram.
Academic Enrichment
I am in ROTC. This teaches a person how to be a decisive, respected, and moral leader through a very specific type of military style encouragement. I would say my leadership style is very direct but respectful. I would never make fun of or haze someone under my command but I would consecutively talk to them to correct the situation.
Leadership Development
I plan on staying current with service opportunities and would be open minded to any ideals I may learn during said service. I have and will continue to volunteer at Matthew 25 Ministries over breaks when I am back in Cincinnati.
