Artifact 2

When I was in high school over the summer I worked at Camp Imagine which is a camp for students with disabilities. The camp takes place at Avon Lake High School, which is in my home town. While there, I made great connections with many of the students that attended the camp. From this experience I learned that I should not take the life that I was given for granted and that it is important to help those who are less fortunate than yourself. I used what I learned from this experience to get more involved in organizations that focus on community service, like Mount Scholars.

During high school I had always known that when I went to college I would have to decide what I was going to major in. I thought about it while I was deciding what high school classes to take but never completely made up my mind. I never had one subject that interested me more than any other, which meant that I did not have any major in mind. This changed when I took an economics class my senior year.

As soon as I started my economics class, I was very interested in what was going on and could not wait to learn more. I was very engaged in this class and learned a lot in the semester that I took it. This pushed me to declare my major as business and then eventually be a part of the Fisher School of Business at Ohio State. I am very happy that I ended up taking this class and learned that I liked economics and business type classes.
