Best New Year’s Wishes from the Fairfield County Fair!!

With appreciation for all who supported our FULL Fair in 2021, we look forward to the Fairfield County Fair slated for October 10-15  2022!!  Now is the time to purchase your 2022 Fairfield County  Agriculture Society Membership, which gives you one week long pass for the 2022 Fairfield County Fair, entry privileges and the ability to vote in the annual Director election, all for $25.00.

Office hours at the Fair office are 8:30 until noon, Monday thru Friday.

Fairfield County Fair back to a “Full Fair” in 2021

We are  just a few days  away from the  opening of the 2021 Fairfield County Fair. Here’s all the details..  Sunday, October 10 is a Free Day.  The official grand opening of the Fair kicks off on Monday, October 11 in the Grandstand at 8 am.   This year will be the return to a  FULL FAIR, complete with rides, vendors, Art Hall Displays, Entertainment and so much more!!!    If you will recall in 2020 we  hosted a  Junior Fair only, for 4-H and FFA exhibitors to complete their project work.  In 2019,  immediately after the Fair 3the Fairfield County Ag Society voted to raise admission prices to $7.00 while committing $2.00 of the cost increase to long term improvements on the Fairgrounds.  Check out the following information on Advance Sale Tickets,  Ticket Prices  (which does include parking) and Ride Information.

Admission Hours:

Sunday: Gates Open at 12:00 noon

Monday-Saturday: Gates Open at 7:00 a.m.

Prices:

Anyone 10yrs and over : $7.00

Anyone 9yrs and under: free

Advanced Sale Tickets

$30.00 each

You will receive a strip of 6 admission tickets. They may be purchased at the Fair Office during business hours.

*Tickets may also be purchased at Fairfield National Bank and their Lancaster branch locations.

Senior Citizen Tickets

Wed. 10/13/21 Senior Citizens will be charged $3.00 with Golden Buckeye Card

Ride tickets prices are subject to change without prior notice. They are set by the ride company and we have no control on the price. Please call the office and we will try to assist you, 740-653-3041.

Sunday 12:00 NOON – 6:30 p.m.

Monday 12:00 NOON – 10:00 p.m.

Tuesday 12:00 NOON – 10:00 p.m.

Wednesday 12:00 NOON – 10:00 p.m.

Thursday 10:00 a.m. – 10:30 p.m.

Friday 10:00 a.m. – 10:30 p.m.

Saturday 10:00 a.m. – 10:00 p.m.

Single tickets will be $1.50 each.

Twenty-five tickets for $25.00

Kiddie rides will require TWO tickets.

Adult rides will require THREE tickets.

Hand Stamp Specials for all Rides:

Sunday $16.00

Monday $15.00

(plus free merry-go-round, Monday 12:00 noon – 10:00pm)

Tuesday $15.00

Wednesday $15.00

Thursday $14.00

Friday $14.00

Saturday $16.00

Ticket sales will begin 1/2 hour before the start of rides.  The hand stamp or wrist band specials do not include side attractions such as the Fun House and the Dark Ride.

 

 

Camper reminder from the Fairfield County Ag Society

We know with rainy weather predicted in the next couple of days you might be trying to move your campers to the Fairgrounds for placement and set-up.  Please be reminded that if a camper is hooked to electric or water from more than 8 days there will be a $20.00 per day charge per the Fairfield County Fairbook..check out the camper rules.  For details, please check out  https://www.fairfieldcountyfair.org/

New Coloring Contest offered at County Fair Competitions

Do you love to color? Did you know the Fine Arts Department has added a new Coloring competition for both youth and adults for the 2021 Fairfield County Fair.

If you have never entered any of the Art Hall contests at the Fairfield County Fair..it is easy.  Simply, click on Fair’s website at https://www.fairfieldcountyfair.org/ download and print your entry form, and then proceed to the Department link you’d like to make your entries in. The Coloring Contests are featured in Page 74-Fine Arts.  Once your entry form is completed, bring it to the Fair Office located at 157 East Fair Avenue in Lancaster along with your $25 Adult Exhibitor’s Ticket fee. Or, mail them to the Fairfield County Agricultural Society, Post Office Box 945, Lancaster, Ohio 43130.

COOKING CONTESTS Return to the County Fair Art Hall

Got a Favorite Beef Dish your family absolutely loves?  Or what about your favorite Pork Recipe? How about your most favorite recipe using Cinnamon?  The Fairfield County Fair Finest Foods Contest is featuring the special ingredient Cinnamon.  All recipes are to be delivered to the Grange Wing of the Art Hall.  The final evaluation will be held in quilt area with the contests confined to residents of Fairfield County only.   Participants are encouraged to watch the evaluation process, but tastings of the recipes will not occur.

The FAIRFIELD’S FINEST FOODS CONTEST is sponsored by the Friendly Bremen Banking Center.  Entries will be judged Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. in Art Hall-Grange Wing.  Entries should be delivered between 12:30 pm and 1:30 pm on Tuesday. October 12.

The PORK RECIPE  …WE WANT WOW NOW PORK RECIPE RALLY

DYNAMIC BEEF DISH

SPONSOR: Eversole Angus in memory of Denslow Eversole, Feeder Creek Veterinary Services, Sweet Jo’s Concessions, and Bay Food Market are sponsoring beef recipes that provide an enjoyable eating experience.  To be judged Wednesday, October 13 at 11:00 a.m. in Art Hall.  Deliver prepared entries between 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, October 13, 2021 to the Art Hall-Grange Wing.  To enter any of the above contests you will need to enter at the Fairfield County Fair Office by September 23 at 4:00 p.m. Please note Adult Exhibitor’s Ticket (Week Pass) – $25.00.  Youth Exhibitor’s Ticket (Under 18 on 1/1/2021)- $12.00

New Contests offered in the Farm Products Competition at the Fair

Heaviest Bird Egg Contest is New Open to all Fairfield County Residents!! If you have a collection of laying birds, and think you have the opportunity enter the heaviest bird egg in Fairfield County, now is your chance! Your heaviest egg can be entered Fair in the Farm Products Division. You could win a $25.00 gift certificate to Marshall Grain in Amanda.

Got a tall weed around your property?  Don’t cut that weed, enter it in the tallest weed contest at the Fairfield County Fair, Lancaster, Ohio. For a copy of this year’s Fairbook go to fairfieldcountyfair.org. and look for Open Class Book tab, scroll down to the Page 41 – Farm Products.

Skillathons are Mandatory for Livestock/Horses/Dogs for the 2021 Fairfield County Junior Fair

Continuing from what was begun in 2020, the Fairfield County Junior Fair will require the completion of at least one Skillathon per 4-H/FFA exhibitor in order to show at 2021 Fairfield County Junior Fair for all beef, dairy, goat, poultry, rabbit (except Pet Rabbits), sheep, swine, dog, horse, and alpaca/llama projects. Fairfield County Skillathons may include (but are not limited to) animal anatomy/body parts, breeding and reproduction, feeds and nutrition, current events, diseases and animal health, equipment ID, feed ID, Quality Assurance, breeds, marketing, meats, and record keeping including your project book.
