Javier Granados Samayoa

I am currently a 5th year Ph.D candidate. Broadly speaking, I am interested in the role that asymmetries in the weighting of positive and negative valence play in a variety of behavioral domains. More specifically, I am conducting research examining whether individuals who give greater weight to positive valence display lower levels of self-control, and whether recalibrating their valence weighting tendencies toward a neutral point enhances their ability to exert self-control. An additional line of research examines whether these valence weighting differences are related to aspects of self-enhancement.
