Call for Papers

Abstracts are invited for talks and posters from researchers engaged in analyses and description of phonetic/phonological, morphosyntactic, and semantic phenomena, theoretically informed field-based research, and experimental/psycholinguistic approaches to South Asian languages.

This year’s (F)ASAL meeting will additionally feature a special session focused on phonetics and phonology (organized by Kelly Berkson (Indiana) and Sameer Ud Dowla Khan (Reed College). Please submit abstracts related to any aspect of South Asian phonetics and/or phonology, including but not limited to issues involving prosody, tone, segmental or suprasegmental phenomena, or typologically unusual contrasts. Work of many types – descriptive, experimental (e.g. related to production or perception), sociophonetic, typological, theoretical, etc.— is appropriate for submission.

All abstracts, including references and data, are limited to two single-spaced pages (A4 or US Letter) with 1-inch (2.5cm) margins and a minimum font size of 11pt. One person can submit at most one abstract as sole author and another as co-author.
