Reflectance sensors

  • The back of the wheel used on the AEV is sided with little black and metal pieces that the sensor flashes light on, and based on what surface the light hits the sensor knows how far the wheel has traveled.
  • The importance of these sensors is that they are imperative in how the AEV will move. If not for the sensors, we could not use the code as we have because the code uses units of distance and the sensors are used to see how far the AEV travels.
