Volunteering at a medical clinic

My neighbor who is a doctor, donates his spare time at a clinic that provides free medical attention to a large number of Hispanic immigrants who would not otherwise receive any.  Wanting to both help and improve my Spanish skills, I asked him if I could be of any help.  As the clinic is always in need of extra help, he was very happy to have me.  Since many of the patients speak very little English, I helped them fill out the necessary paper work to get registered with the clinic.  This was often a very challenging task that really tested my knowledge of Spanish and my ability to communicate.  Having volunteered here, I feel that I have not only improved my Spanish, but have also been inspired to possibly seek a career in helping Hispanic immigrants.
