Readings: paragraphs 166-177, “The truth of Self-Certainty” in Phenomenology of Spirit. Some may find the Hegel reading daunting, but discussion should help clarify the text. A brief summary of paragraphs 166-177 can be found here.
Tao te Ching, sections 1-5 (pp. 51-68 in E.M. Chen edition). Other translations of the Taoist text (also called Daodjing) are given here, but the commentary by Chen may be helpful.
