How to Apply for Emeritus Status (Faculty)

  • Complete the top portion of the Request for Emeritus Status Form and attach it to the signed notification intent to retiree letter directed to your department chair.
  • The department chair will forward the form and retirement letter to CVM HR who will route the form for approvals

Important Notes About Emeritus Status: This action requires approval by your home department, college, the Office of Academic Affairs and the Board of Trustees. Forms generally need submitted to the Office of Academic Affairs a month before the Board meeting at which final approval will be made.  Log in to Workday to ensure that the home address you have on file is correct.  The Office of the Board of Trustees will contact you at your home address on file after emeritus status has been approved.The Board will also provide you with further information about parking and other privileges associated with emeritus status, including getting a permanent emeritus ID card, getting library privileges and use of recreational facilities.
