FAQ

What if I do not meet all eligibility requirements or don’t know if I do?   We invite you to fill out the survey here with your information.  If you are determined to be eligible, you will be invited to be part of the program.  If you are not eligible, we will reach out and help you get connected to the right academic advisor or advising office.  Participation in the program is optional.

Am I eligible if I have been academically dismissed?  Since academic dismissal usually means that your cumulative GPA is under 2.0, most students who are academically dismissed will not be eligible for full services.  However, if you do not know how to start the reinstatement process, you are welcome to fill out your information and someone from Complete Ohio State will reach out and help you get connected to the right academic advisor or advising office.

Why am I not eligible for Complete Ohio State if I started Ohio State at one of the regional campuses?  Complete Ohio State is a new program and we are keeping it focused as we get it up and running.  If we are able to expand it beyond the Columbus campus in the future, we will do so.  In the meantime, if you started at a regional campus and do not know how to get started with a return to Ohio State, you are welcome to fill out your information and someone from Complete Ohio State will reach out and help you get connected to the right academic advisor or advising office.

What is Satisfactory Academic Progress for financial aid?  Please see the Student Financial Aid website for more information.  https://sfa.osu.edu/current-student/manage-aid/managing-aid/sap

Why am I not eligible if I have earned another bachelor’s degree?  The purpose of this program is to help students achieve their first bachelor’s degree, since that opens up so many further education and employment opportunities than available to those without a degree.  However, if you need help connecting to the appropriate advising office, please fill out your information and we can get you connected.

What is included in case management?  Case management includes providing ongoing support and information to complement the services you receive from your academic advisor.  Specific assistance will depend on your unique needs and situation but could include regular check-ins and reminders throughout the semester, requesting progress reports from your instructors and professors, early intervention if you are at risk of not passing one or more of your courses, coordination with Student Financial Aid and Buckeyelink, and referrals to additional university services as needed and desired. You will still receive academic advising for your specific degree requirements from your academic advisor.

What is the additional eligibility criteria for the financial support component?   What types of support would be available? Financial aid assistance may be available for students in need.  In order to be considered students must have completed the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form.  Students will then work with a Buckeye Link Counselor to review individual circumstances to determine eligibility.
