3. Treatment of Cancer

Module 3 describes the many ways that oncologists now have to treat cancer. ItThe module begins with an overview of the factors that oncologists consider as they determine the treatment for a patient’s cancer, followed by a brief description of the various treatment methods and technologies, which are usually combined. Lectures 2 through 6 take a closer look at individual treatment methods, from surgery and radiation therapy, to chemotherapy and targeted therapy and immune therapy. The module ends with a video about how these treatment methods are combined into a treatment regimen for a patient.
