BuckeyeLearn: What is it? What is it not?

  • Shared online learning platform for both the University and Wexner Medical Center for non-academic topics
  • Target audience is staff, faculty, and student employees; Students and other people affiliated in a non-employee role (e.g. volunteers and contractors) will have ability to access the system when training is applicable
  • It is NOT intended to replace Carmen or serve as a learning platform for the university’s academic topics

The Platform: Cornerstone OnDemand

The Ohio State University has contracted with Cornerstone OnDemandCornerstone OnDemand (CSOD) is a global leader of cloud-based talent management software solutions.

To satisfy the BuckeyeLearn Implementation Project objectives discussed below, the following CSOD modules will be implemented:

  • Learning Cloud
  • Extended Enterprise Cloud
  • Connect 

Support: What are the Responsibilities of the OTDI BuckeyeLearn Support Team?

The OTDI BuckeyeLearn Support team maintains and configures the system holding up each area’s business in BuckeyeLearn. The OTDI BuckeyeLearn Support team is responsible for:

  • Providing support for unit-level system administrators (Organizational Unit Administrators and BuckeyeLearn Liaisons) at both the University and Wexner Medical Center
  • Managing system security
  • Testing and deploying quarterly releases from the vendor (Cornerstone)
  • Providing tier 2 and tier 3 support
  • Defining system usage policies and procedures and maintaining documentation
  • Administering user permissions & administration roles
  • Monitoring and alerting for application latency’s and degradation
  • Testing and deploying system-wide changes
  • Identifying, troubleshooting, and resolving incidents and managing requests through ServiceNow
  • Acting in an advisory capacity as needed and assisting with deployment of enterprise-wide assignments, like Report = Support!
  • Performing system audits
  • Onboarding new (university only) BuckeyeLearn administrators
