Congratulations on your admission to our program!
We are so excited that you will be majoring in Social Work with us here at OSU- Lima! If we have not met yet, my name is Stephanie Price, and I am the BSSW Field Placement Coordinator and Liaison for OSU- Lima Campus. My role here is to be an encouragement to you while you explore Social Work as a future career and to help answer any questions you might have about our program and your next steps.
Now that you have been admitted to the program, below are somethings to consider-
- Plan to attend our mandatory Orientation to the Social Work Major on Tuesday, August 13, from 1-4:00pm in Perry Webb 106, Lima Campus. This mandatory orientation will provide you with information you need regarding the College of Social Work expectations, the social work curriculum, your field placement, faculty and academic advising roles, and lots more. More details will come about this late Spring/early Summer, so be sure to check your OSU email!
- If you plan to complete your degree in the next two years, please make sure to register for the following courses for the 2024 Autumn semester:
- SWK 3101 Professional Values and Ethics
- SWK 3401 Research Methods and Statistics for Social Work Problems
- SWK 3501 Engagement and Interviewing
- SWK 3600 Introduction to Psychopathology and Social Work Practice
- And, if you have questions regarding your remaining pre-major courses or your academic schedule, please refer to your Degree Audit and schedule to meet with our Social Worker advisor, Billy Foster, at 567-242-7510.
