Each semester of your freshman year you will take some, but not all, of your courses with other Buckeye Generation Learning Community students.
Taking these courses will not put you behind in your major or delay your transition to Columbus.
These courses have been carefully chosen so that they fit the requirements for every major.
These courses are General Education classes (GE’s). When you graduate from The Ohio State University you will have earned a liberal arts degree. This means that no matter your major you are required to take courses in a variety of ‘liberal arts.’ This means that even if you are a science major you will have to take social and behavioral GE’s, like psychology and sociology, to graduate. Your advisor will explain GE’s more at orientation!
When you hover over “courses” in the menu at the top of the page you will see a drop down menu for autumn and spring. A list of courses for the 2024-2025 year are listed.
You are required to take the Buckeye Generation courses BOTH semesters, but you are able to choose your other courses that you would like to take!
