1987-1997Undergraduate and Graduate Student. University of California, Santa Cruz and Oregon State University. Academic focus: Marine Biology, Ecology, Invertebrate Life History, Functions of Diversity, Statistics, Computer Simulation.

1997-2001Post-doc and Science Coordinator in the Lubchenco/Menge lab at Oregon State University. Projects: Intertidal Dynamics, Large-Scale Surveys, Marine Reserves, Modeling, Data Science, Project Management.

2001-2005Visiting Scholar. The Ohio State University, Aquatic Ecology Lab. Projects: Intertidal Surveys (Oregon State University), Data Recovery and Management (Ohio State University, Penn State University), Salmon Mortality Modeling (OSU and University of Vermont), Python and R programming projects.

2005-2019Stay-at-home dad and homeschool teacher.  Developed and taught courses to a small group of children (ages 4-18): Science, Math, Critical Thinking, Media, Baking.

2017-present – Independent Researcher and Data Wrangler.  Interests and focus: Data Science, Oil and Gas data sets, Python/pandas programming, Machine Learning (Fast.ai courses), Web Scraping.
