Throughout 100 years, the Department of Agricultural Communication, Education, and Leadership has called many places “home” across the Ohio State campus.
The first home of the department was in Room 103 of Townshend Hall. This was was the home for six years until the department moved to the new Horticulture and Forestry Building (now known as Lazenby Hall) in the 1923-1924 academic year.
After five years in the Horticulture and Forestry building, the Department moved to Room 323 of Campbell Hall, where it remained for the 18 years.
From 1946 until 1951, the Department was located in Room 215 of Ives Hall.
The next move was to Rehearsal Hall in 1951, where it would be located for seven years.
During the 1958-1959 academic year, the Department moved to Agricultural Administration, where it remains today.
In 2018, the second floor of Agricultural Administration will undergo a renovation to update the wing currently occupied by the Department of Agricultural Communication, Education, and Leadership. This renovation will allow classrooms, office spaces and learning laboratories to be upgraded with the most relevant technology and tools to prepare our students for their future careers.
