Come to Thayer Ridge Park and explore wild animal tracks, see and listen to birds, study plants and soil, learn to compost and recycle and play with the Enviroscape ™ watershed at Nature Camp. The Knox County Park District invites children ages 8-12 to attend our camp on Thursday, June 28 8:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. Parents may drop their child off and return for pickup at 12:30. Upon pickup pack a lunch and eat at the park with your child. The camp is designed to engage children in outdoor fun to create pathways for lessons in nature, conservation and ecology. The camp will include six hands-on stations allowing the children a 30- minute activity on various nature related topics. Research shows that children who play outside are more physically active, more creative in their play, less aggressive and exhibit better concentration.
