2022 Junior Fair Senior Scholarship Award

This will be awarded to one senior from each of the following Departments.

  • Beef (Beef Breeding, Beef Feeder, Market Beef, Dairy Market Feeder, and Market Dairy Steer)
  • Dairy Cows
  • Dogs
  • Equine (light horse and draft)
  • Goats (Breeding, Market, and Pack)
  • Llama and Alpaca
  • Poultry (Production and Market)
  • Rabbits (Breeding and Market)
  • Swine
  • Sheep (Breeding and Market)
  • Still Projects

Eligibility Requirements: Must be graduating from high school in the Spring of 2022. Must be exhibiting the specie in which they sign up for in the 2022 Knox County Junior Fair. They may sign up for all departments they are exhibiting in. Must be signed up by the deadline of May 13, 2022.

Participation Requirements: Each participant will be given no more than 20 minutes to present in a way of their choosing one of the following topics to a selection panel. (For example – PowerPoint, prepared speech, or display board)

  • Biosecurity
  • Agriculture Advocation
  • The Positive impact of 4H and FFA in a Community
  • Economy – Agricultures Role

Selection Process and Awards: Participants will present their presentation in mid-June. They will be contacted with a specific presentation date and time. Once all entries have presented, the selection panel will choose a winner from each department. The winner from each department will be announced during the special announcements portion of the Sale of Champions. The award amount is dependent upon the number of entries but will be no less than $250.00 per Department.

Sheep Improvement Scholarship

The Knox County Sheep Improvement Association encourages all 2020 and 2021 seniors to fill out an application to be eligible for a $500 scholarship. One 2020 Senior and one 2021 Senior will be awarded a $500 scholarship  at the 2022 Sheep Improvement Banquet on Monday, March 7, 2022. Please, fill out the attached application and return to the Knox County OSU Extension office by 5pm on Friday, November 12, 2021.

Buckeye Bunny Supply Memorial Scholarship

The Buckeye Bunny Supply Memorial Scholarship (In Memory of Alan Worthington) application is now available! Two $250 scholarships will be awarded to a high school senior or current college student who was active as a youth member in the rabbit industry that has excelled in all aspects of their 4-H or FFA career. Deadline to apply is April 9, 2021.

2021 Knox County Farm Bureau Scholarship

The Knox County Farm Bureau Board of Trustees has designated funds to assist with the next generation of youth.  Applicants must be residents of Knox County and members of the Knox County Farm Bureau or have parents who are members.  Applicants who are graduating high school seniors or who are already enrolled in an accredited 2 or 4-year college are welcome to apply.  Check out more and apply here.  The deadline to apply is April 30, 2021.

The Knox County Farm Bureau will be awarding a $2,500.00 scholarship to a qualified high school senior or person enrolled in college from Knox County who will be pursuing further education.

Applicant Qualifications

Applicant must be a resident of Knox County.

  • Applicant or their parents must be a Knox County Farm Bureau member.
  • The student must be planning to pursue a degree at any two or four-year accredited institution.
  • The student must have an accumulative 2.5 GPA at the accredited institution.

Required items:

  • Letters of Recommendation:  Must provide two references.
  • Transcripts: Copies of your most recent High School and/or College/Technical School transcripts.
  • Essay Questions:  Please answer the following question. How has agriculture impacted your life?
